FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Local Businesses “Jump On Board” with the 2010 Arctic Winter Games Grande Prairie, Alberta

A City of Grande Prairie transit bus wrapped in Arctic Winter Games images will soon be on the streets driving the message that excitement is building for the 2010 Arctic Winter Games, and encouraging all to “get on board.”

The bus was unveiled this morning, with members of the 2010 Games team along with local business leaders who provided the gift-in-kind and cash sponsorship to put this marketing vehicle on the road.

Jumping on board with support for the bus were three local businesses – Driver Advertising Systems, an independent contractor responsible for selling the advertising for the City of Grande Prairie transit system and who provided gift-in-kind advertising space to the 2010 Arctic Winter Games, SOS Graphics who provided the labour for the wrap, Jackpine Design Studio who provided design for the wrap and Ernie’s Sports Experts who provided cash towards the project.

“Driving images of the Arctic Winter Games around the city streets is a tremendous opportunity to showcase this international event to residents and visitors in the upcoming months leading up to the Games,” said Debbie Reid, 2010 Games president. “It is really exciting to see the local community finding their way to the Games and coming together to support us. This is an excellent example of the teamwork that we are showcasing at these Games.”

The full-colour images taken during the 2008 Yellowknife Games and provided by the Yellowknife Host Society feature some of the sports and culture that will be showcased at the 2010 Arctic Winter Games. The transit bus will be on city roads until the end of March 2010.
