The City of Grande Prairie is proud to be a major contributor to the 2010 Arctic Winter Games, having already invested $130,000 in Pursuit of Excellence funding and pledged a further $500,000 over the next two years in addition to a $1 million gift-in-kind contribution. Hosting the Arctic Winter Games will be another in a long line of success stories Grande Prairie has authored over the years by hosting major sports, recreational and cultural events. |

In providing $1.5 million towards the Host Society, and supporting Team Alberta North through the Alberta Sport, Recreation, Parks and Wildlife Foundation, the Province is building for tomorrow by investing in youth who are pursuing personal development through sport. Together we continue to invest in Alberta’s quality of life by watching athletes and artists Dream, Inspire and Achieve. |

The Government of Canada is proud to support the 2010 Arctic Winter Games. The values that we learn from sport-teamwork, discipline and confidence-are important values that are on display in communities across this country and across the North. The Government of Canada has committed up to $400,000 to help offset the cost of the Games. The Games provide a unique opportunity for athletes not only to compete, but to interact with one another and foster cultural exchange. |
